New Venue to Spotlight Live Music, Arts programming, and Public Events, Further Establishing MADE as a Premier Brooklyn Cultural Destination

Bolsters City’s “Harbor of the Future” Initiative, Invests in Brooklyn’s Working Waterfront in Sunset Park

BROOKLYN, NY—The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) today announced the next phase in its transformation of MADE Bush Terminal—Brooklyn’s emerging waterfront destination for creativity, culture, and community—through a new cultural partnership with Public Service, the creative studio of Public Records, led by founders Shane Davis and Francis Harris. The partnership will re-envision and re-activate a 1,000-capacity venue within MADE Bush Terminal, and will feature dynamic programming spanning live music, large-scale art installations, and public and private event typologies.

Building on NYCEDC’s commitment to creating inclusive, community-oriented spaces across the city, this initiative will expand MADE Bush Terminal’s cultural footprint to bring residents and visitors together through a strategic partnership with Public Service. The new venue will leverage the team’s proven curatorial and creative vision, bringing the same dynamic, multidisciplinary programming that has made their flagship venue, Public Records, a popular destination for live music, immersive cultural experiences, and innovative artistic collaboration. Integrating into MADE Bush Terminal’s Building A, the project will anchor a growing campus that already serves as home to thriving manufacturing and creative enterprises in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Public Records is a multidimensional organization headquartered in Brooklyn, recognized for its diverse sonic and cultural programming, imaginative hospitality, and innovative design and ecological explorations.

The venue is expected to open late 2026. This initiative advances NYCEDC’s larger investment in the Sunset Park District, and the City’s “Harbor of the Future” strategy, investing in Brooklyn’s working waterfront, supporting local job creation, fostering community partnerships, and reinforcing the borough’s growth as an innovation hub.

“MADE Bush Terminal is redefining what a modern manufacturing and creative district can be while breathing new life into a historic space,” said NYCEDC President & CEO Andrew Kimball. “With the team behind Public Records, we are building on this momentum through a new dynamic music and arts venue that truly exemplifies MADE's role in New York City's future cultural landscape—a place where world-class design and local entrepreneurship come together to revitalize Sunset Park’s industrial waterfront and create a thriving ecosystem for creativity, innovation, and growth.”

“We’re honored to partner with NYCEDC and support their vision to bring new cultural infrastructure to South Brooklyn. Our creative practice is particularly inspired by opportunities to re-envision and re-enliven historic spaces through design, hospitality, and artistic curation,” said Shane Davis, Co-Founder, Public Records. “To do so in concert with a project dedicated to supporting the greater arts and production community in New York aligns perfectly with our organizational interests and aspirations.”

Under NYCEDC’s leadership, the Public Service team will help shape year-round programming that reflects the diversity and creativity of the Sunset Park community and advances the city’s broader mission to foster equitable economic growth through culture and innovation. This expanded cultural vision complements MADE’s existing role as a hub for community programming that works with local organizations such as OBT, Raising Health, and others, ensuring the site remains an inclusive part of Sunset Park.

Public Service is leading the project’s vision in collaboration with nArchitects, MADE’s project-wide architects, ARUP, and lighting designer Ben Kreukniet with BK Studio, bringing a forward-thinking, design-driven approach to the campus and ensuring it reflects MADE’s creative and cultural mission. Brand Urban represented Public Records and NYCEDC in brokering the deal.

Located on Brooklyn’s historic waterfront, MADE Bush Terminal (short for Manufacturers, Artisans, Designers, and Entrepreneurs) sits within one of the city’s most significant industrial campuses, now reimagined as a hub for innovation, small business, and cultural activity. The site features 140,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space, 30,000 square feet dedicated to cultural and public programming, and five acres of new parkland and open space. Future plans include five additional acres of public waterfront space, new food and beverage offerings, and a ferry landing—connecting Sunset Park to the rest of the city and offering unparalleled views of New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty.

Currently, NYCEDC has an open Request for Proposals (RFP) for an anchor food and beverage concession in the Café Building at MADE Bush Terminal. The ideal respondent to this RFP will oversee the development, operations and maintenance of a distinguished amenity for this emerging waterfront destination. Responses are due no later than January 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

Last August, NYCEDC broke ground at Pier 6, a 5-acre pier, located at MADE Bush Terminal, to transform the pier into an engaging new open space for community residents and tenants. The project stabilizes the deteriorated pier to ensure safe waterfront access, honors its industrial and ecological history, and creates a sustainable, resilient park. The design integrates managed erosion, reused historic industrial elements, and preserved habitat with new resilient public space.
